What kind of prior work experiences have you had?
20 years in the printing industry, both pre-press and press operator. I also worked as a photographer for many years. What else? Accounting/tax prep, merchandising, retail, delivery driving, branding consultant, graphic design, secretary, bartender, front-end restaurant manager, photo restoration, and more. I'm forgetting a lot in the 40+ years I've been working. My first job was pulling weeds in middle school.
What is your favorite part of working with SMQC?
Learning new things but most exciting is having a NASA email!
What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of work?
I am a volunteer at the Endangered Wolf Center. My dog Bear and I were a TOUCH Therapy team for Support Dogs for several years - visiting schools, hospitals, nursing homes. I love hockey (Go Blues!), reading, making noise with several instruments, board games with friends, and taking way too many pictures of my cat and dog.
What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of in your career so far?
Being a photographer in front of packed Wembley and NEC arenas for Depeche Mode on their 1990 UK tour.
What are some emerging issues and changes in supply chain and supply chain management that you have recently seen?
How artificial intelligence (AI) will affect forecasting, quality control, inventory management, risk assessment and cybersecurity.
What advice would you give to someone entering the workforce today?
Try to make a difference, don’t settle. Tomorrow belongs to those who are ready for it.
Any final words or advice?
Success for me is making sure the people around me are successful, simple as that. For advice, I'd go with this:
